Volunteers are one of our most important assets.
Through their participation, they bring the Mill and its exhibits
to life. Our volunteers interact directly with school groups and
other visitors. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet an interesting
and diverse group of people. Both visitors and other volunteers
have special insights and fascinating stories to tell.
Current
Volunteer Opportunities:
Become a spinner and weaver: Classes teaching
both spinning and weaving are held several times a year for those
who wish to learn and demonstrate these crafts. There is a volunteer
commitment of 3 three-hour sessions per month for the next mill
season after completion of the class.
Become a "conductor": Guide visitors
on a tour through the mill. Basic instruction in the history of
the Underground Railroad and the mill are available for those
who wish to volunteer.
